      CUB SCOUT AWARDS -


Cub Scouts can earn a lot of awards by Doing their Best. The Cub Scouts may earn Belt Loops and Pins, Perfect Attendance Pin, World Conservation Award, numerous temporary patches, Religious Knot, Leave No Trace, Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award, Emergency Prepareness Award, Recruiter Patch, Quality Unit Award as well as their Advancement Rank, Arrow Points, Progress Beads and the Hertiage Award and Good Turn For America Award.

HOW TO EARN AWARDS

Cub Scouts can earn awards by completing requirements and projects.

 BELT LOOPS can be earned by completing three requirements and earn the PIN by completing five more requirements for a total of eight requirements.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE PIN is earned by attending all meetings and activities for the year.

WORLD CONSERVATION AWARD is earned by completing one required Achievement and two Electives. The Rank Book will show you which ones to complete.

RELIGIOUS KNOT is earned by completing a study, depending on the grade from a booklet for that particular grade, by a Youth Minister or a Minister.

LEAVE NO TRACE AWARD is earned by participating in activities from a study conducted by a Leader and three outings or camp out.

CUB SCOUT OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AWARD is earned by attending Summer Camp or Day Camp and other activities.

EMERGENCY PREPARENESS AWARD is earned by learning how to prepare your self for a disaster, first aid, and practicing a fire drill with your family and pack.

QUALITY UNIT AWARD is earned by doing service projects and other various projects by the pack.

 ADVANCEMENT RANKS are earned by completing 12 Achievements.

PROGRESS AWARD is earned after completing three Achievements and for each three Achievements by the time you finish you should four beads.

ARROW POINTS are earned by completing 10 Electives and the first arrow is Gold and then each one there after each ten completed earns a Silver Arrow.

HERTIAGE AWARD is earned by completing a list of questions about the U S Flag and our country.

GOOD TURN AMERICA AWARD is a six year award earned by completing community service.

OTHER PATCHES are earned by participating in various activities such as doing a good turn daily, top sales in money earning projects, Services projects and etc.

 


CUB SCOUT INSIGNIA PLACEMENT GUIDE

 1.  U.S. FLAG EMBLEM - Worn by all members of scouting centered on the right sleeve directly below the shoulder seam.  NEW uniforms have this   emblem already sewn in the correct position.

 2.  COUNCIL SHOULDER EMBLEM - Worn by all youth and adult members directly below the shoulder seam on left sleeve.

 3.  PACK NUMERAL - Worn by all youth and adult members on left sleeve, directly below and touching council shoulder emblem except when veteran unit bar is worn.

 4.  WORLD CREST - May be worn by all members as an expression of world brotherhood.  Worn centered above left pocket midway between the pocket and the shoulder seam.

5.  QUALITY UNIT AWARD - Worn by boys and adult leaders in pack who meet the criteria. Worn centered on right sleeve 4 inches below shoulder seam.  Only the most recently earned Quality Unit Emblem may be worn.

6.  TIGER CUB EMBLEM - Worn on the bottom of the center left pocket of the Cub Scout uniform.

7.  BOBCAT BADGE - Worn on the left pocket at the top centered under the button.

8.  WOLF BADGE - Worn on the left pocket positioned to the left between the Bobcat and Tiger badge.

9. BEAR BADGE - Worn on the left pocket positioned to the right of the Bobcat and Tiger badge.

10.  GOLD ARROW POINTS - are worn beneath the left pocket and directly below the badge for which it was earned.  Only one Gold Arrow Point may be earned for each badge (Wolf and Bear).

11.  SILVER ARROW POINTS - are worn below the Gold Arrow Point directly below the badge for which it was earned in double rows.  There is no limit to the number of Silver Arrow Points earned.

12.  PROGRESS TOWARD RANK BADGE - Worn by Cub Scouts fastened to button under flap of right pocket and pocket flap rebuttoned.  Used for immediate recognition as a Scout completes his achievements for Wolf and Bear Rank.  Yellow beads for Wolf, red for Bear.

13. RECRUITER STRIP - Worn below right pocket uniform.  For any Cub Scout responsible for recruiting a new Cub Scout into the program.

14.WEBELOS COLORS - Worn on the right sleeve immediately below and touching the U S Flag if no den number is worn.  If colors are worn, activity badges are worn on the streamers.

15.WEBELOS BADGE - is worn on the center of the left pocket

16. COMPASS POINTS EMBLEM - Worn by Webelos Scouts fastened to button under flap of right pocket and pocket flap rebuttoned.  Awarded after earning the Webelos Badge plus four more activity badges.  Compass Point pins may be earned for each four additional activity badges, and are worn affixed in the "E", "S", and "W" positions of the Compass Points emblems.

17. ARROW OF LIGHT - is worn on the left pocket flap centered over the button.  This is the highest award in Cub Scouting and the only Cub Scout badge which may be worn on the Boy Scout uniform.

18. ACITIVITY MEDALS - Medals earned by Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts in derbies or other contests are worn centered above the left shirt pocket.  These should be worn only on special occasions such as those mentioned. 

19. NATIONAL SUMMERTIME AWARD PIN - Earned by Cub Scouts who participate in all three Summertime pack activities.  Worn centered on right pocket flap of uniform shirt.   (NOT FOR ADULTS)

20.  EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PIN - is worn on the center of the left pocket flap.

21.  RELIGIOUS  MEDAL EMBLEM - worn centered above the left shirt pocket.  The KNOT EMBLEM is worn over the left pocket of the shirt.

22.  PERFECT ATTENDANCE PIN and BAR - is worn centered above the left pocket.

23.  CUB SCOUT OUTDOOR ACTIVITY PATCH - is worn on the right pocket flap and the wolf track pin may be added to the flap as they are earned.

24.  TEMPORARY INSIGNIA - Worn centered on the right pocket or they may be worn in a plastic temporary cover on the right pocket and only one at a time may be worn.  These patches include the 75th Anniversary Patch, Pinewood Derby patch, Crime Prevention, Good Turn For America, U S Heritage Patch, Leave No Trace or any other patch Awarded.
